Railing Pattern

Patternmaking

Pollock Davies specialise in wood patterns for castings in iron, bronze, brass and aluminium. We work closely with foundries to produce accurate patterns from existing drawings or designed in partnership with our clients. It is also possible to repair or recondition old patterns or castings for use as new.

We can also produce patterns in resins, fibreglass, plasters and other materials - whatever is suitable for each particular job.

Woodcarving

All kinds of woodcarving jobs are happily undertaken. Whether it is for a presentation piece, sculpture, restoration, conservation, family crests or any other item you may require, all woodcarvings are produced with care, attention to detail, and finished to the highest standards.

A special interest in historical woodcarving designs allows for sympathetic and accurate reproductions where necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any requests you may have - we work closely with clients to realise their ideas, producing a beautiful finished object that everyone is delighted with.

Mould Making and Castings

We provide mould making and casting services in fibreglass, resins, rubber, plaster and cold cast metals. Most usually for art objects or sculptures, but also for anything from ship’s badges to signwork.

Woodturning

Our woodturning skills are often used for patternmaking, for example to make bollards or cylindrical parts. However we can also fulfill orders for one-off items such as to match spindles from original staircases etc. Presentation bowls and other items are also available made to order.

Bespoke Items

Anything is possible - we have experience in everything from sculptures to traditional signs, to presentation plaques and heraldic crests. Don’t hesitate to contact us with your idea - we will be happy to help produce your item to a high level of craftsmanship.

Restoration and Conservation

Pollock Davies are experienced in the repair and restoration of historic carved frames where careful treatment of the wood and use of the correct materials is especially important. We will carry out any research necessary to make sure the item is restored sympathetically. Damaged woodcarvings, furniture, mouldings etc are brought back to life with care and a keen eye for detail.
